ABOUT
MARIANNE VERMEER
Marianne is motivated by making a difference - for her clients, her family, and the world at large. She has started and grown companies and non-profits concerned with creating impact as COO, CFO, Board Member, and Executive Director.
She came to social enterprise and impact investing early on with work in microenterprise and microfinance in the Appalachian region of the US, taking that interest into social venture capital globally and community development finance across the US.
As a consultant, she has advised fast growing companies, impact investors, government agencies, and non-profits on multiple strategic and tactical matters. Her passion for impact and sustainability is driven by her desire to help build organizations prepared to thrive and grow long after she's been involved.
Born and raised in the rural Midwest, Marianne earned her B.S. degree from Colorado State University and her M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work and travels have given her deep perspective on the need to consider culture and traditions in the growth and development of any organization. While she wishes she spoke many languages fluently, she's mastered "market" Urdu and Arabic. She is currently based in the Richmond, Virginia metro area where she resides with her family and their friendly mutt, Cinnamon.
